About Innovations Group
The Innovations Group leads nationally focused programmes that foster Māori community and whānau led innovation and drive improvement in the delivery of services to whānau.
About the Role
This is an incredible opportunity to directly influence and pave the way for unlocking the potential and development of Māori led solutions and innovation. This newly created role will champion the building of the organisation's capacity and strategic position for Innovation that accelerates transformation within the health sector. The role will work with a number of experienced and committed innovation leads within the innovation directorate. This role is part of the Executive leadership team where you will work closely with the Chief Executive and other Directors to support the development and implementation of organisational strategies and the embedding of new tikanga informed operating model. You will be competent in not only building relationships, but to lead, support, influence and inspire the managers within your team to work closely together to develop an operational environment that will support the growth and development of people in the pursuit of oranga for our communities, while advancing innovation excellence.
Success in this role will be measured by the Director's ability for this to build trust in the Māori Health sector, putting the Māori health workforce at the heart of the overall strategy and effectively navigating government relations while building relationships with key politicians. In a non-profit environment and exploring new mutually beneficial partnerships. The role requires proven experience and ability to advance growth and the diversification of revenue streams.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a strong and confident values-based leader, someone who brings deep experience and credibility in the Māori Health or Mātauranga Māori sector with a proven experience and understanding of different streams of funding and legislation. You will be able to bring people together toward a common goal and be a role model for collaboration and tikanga.
If you are a strategic leader, passionate about our kaupapa and ready to drive the development and growth of Māori-led solutions and innovation, we'd like to hear from you! The ideal candidate will bring:
- A minimum of a master's degree in a relevant field. A PhD is highly desirable
- Relevant experience as a health sector senior leader with an Te Ao Māori worldview, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in health service design and delivery
- Proven experience in change management and service improvement
- Financial management experience including managing to budget
- Conveys confidence and acts with generosity to support and recognise the contributions of others. A champion for whanaungatanga.
- Capability to uphold tikanga and the kaupapa and vision of Te Rau Ora
