Mathew is a hands on indigenous leader who shares his cultural knowledge in order to advance wellness outcomes for impacted indigenous communities.
Matt has a portfolio of experience developing solutions across education and health. As tumuaki, Dean and Teacher he has deliver specialist teacher programs for connecting and engaging vulnerable learner.
Matt runs Kia whai Hina a traditional healing programme, delivering cultural interventions in his community, across urban and rural communities, for more than a decade. More recently Matt has developed cultural education across the Southern health system, and lead the equity accelerator program with Te Whatu Ora Southern, delivering education and training to reduce racism and improve equity.
Matt’s passion for Mental Health allowed him to successfully acquire the role of Principal Advisor service design, with the Māori Health Authority, Te Aka Whai Ora. To share his vision and experience with positive influencers is Matt’s driver.
