We are establishing a newly created leadership role to guide how artificial intelligence (AI) is used across our organisation and within the kaupapa Māori health and workforce sector.

This role is about more than technology. The AI Lead (Kaiārahi Matihiko) will help ensure AI is developed and applied in ways that are ethical, tikanga‑informed, grounded in Māori data sovereignty, and aligned to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We are seeking an internal candidate who:

• Has strong experience in AI, data, or digital innovation

• Has experience working within kaupapa Māori and tikanga‑driven environments

• Is confident facilitating kōrero, wānanga, and learning with kaimahi and partners

• Can translate complex technical ideas into accessible, people‑centred practice

This is a high‑trust, influential role with reach across strategy, capability building, partnerships, and sector leadership.
